I explained the issue as having trouble shifting gears when starting to drive and shifting between gears in the high end (such as when passing someone on the expressway). In May, the vehicle performance started to suffer so I brought it into a small mechanic shop in Elk Grove Village, IL called TACCS Auto. I didn’t think anything of it at the time, as the car had been driving normally and the light would go off. I started having concerns in April where the check engine light would go on and then off right away. I kept up on all required maintenance, got oil changes as instructed, and take great care of the car. Up until May 2011, I have never had a single issue with the vehicle. I drive far for work and for fun, so now in July 2011 I have approximately 67K miles on the vehicle. I purchased the vehicle in March of 2008, slightly used from a dealer in Elmhurst, IL with around 14K miles on it. I am writing today regarding my 2008 AWD Ford Escape Limited. If you don't want to start out your adult life in debt.don't buy Ford vehicles!!! This car was supposed to teach me lessons on fiscal responsibilities.and it has. They looked at me like a little girl who doesn't know what she is doing and quoted me at 4,500 dollars to put a new engine into my escape.
#2010 FORD ESCAPE XLT PROBLEMS CRACK#
EXACTLY a year later I am driving home from school and my engine seized causing the main piston rod to shoot up and crack my engine! I have put all of my money into this car, when I went to Ford to have them fix it, they gave me the run around saying I hadn't taken care of my car.even when I provided invoices proving I had. But I made it happen my family had owned nothing but Ford cars my whole life. By 2013 my transmission had blown.out of nowhere.ģ,100 dollars is hard for a starving college student to come up with, I took on a second job and saved to pay for a new transmission. Within a year, my 2008 brand spankin' new Escape was a frequent flyer at the mechanics. A Ford Escape.I thought this was a blessing in my life, to my dismay this car has been nothing but a gigantic waste of my time, my money and my faith in American made cars. The mileage indicated is for the most recent repair, but it has happened multiple times prior to this date.In 2010 I graduated High School and to commemorate my accomplishment my family decided to give me the greatest gift of all. Additionally, the front passenger side door also holds a lot of water. This is a common safety issue with the Ford Escapes. This issue will continue until the lift gate is replaced and no longer holds water. In order to fix the recent issue with the gate, the shop that I took my car to had to pry open the gate and replace the motor assembly. On occasion when my lift gate was not working, I had to rent a vehicle. My service animal is too large to ride up front and she rides in the back. In the event this was an emergency my service animal would've died. I was unable to open the liftgate and had to take down the seats. My service dog has gotten stuck in the vehicle due to the lift gate motor becoming broken.

The vehicle was stationary - the lift gate traps water inside and has caused the lift gate to rust out so badly that it has caused me to replace the lift gate latch actuator motor and assembly on the lift gate 5 times since I purchased this vehicle in May 2010. They had to have known this was a problem when they sold this. They said they'd help get us in something different and will not return any calls. We took it back to the dealership we bought it from and since we bought as is, they would do nothing. Also the roof leaks as well which was not visible when we purchased this vehicle of a lot. We are stuck with a loan for a vehicle when we bought had no rust marks anywhere until after a few months. It is dangerous to myself, occupants and others on the road you can move the entire strut tower. Our local Ford dealership in town sent us to the auto body shop and the auto body shop will not touch it and said park it and do not drive it.
#2010 FORD ESCAPE XLT PROBLEMS DRIVER#
Parked in our driveway, and inspected, found out the entire strut tower on the rear driver side tire is rusted from the frame and there is a large crack that has formed in the unibody has well. Driving down the road started hearing minor noises in the rear, then louder clunks when driving over road patches and bumps.
